Mass Bounds in Mirror-Fermion Models

چکیده
Numerical simulations are performed on different lattice sizes of chiral U(1) and SU(2) scalar-fermion models with explicit mirror pairs of fermions in the broken symmetry phase. Relevance of these models to the electroweak theory is discussed. Shift symmetry of the action is exploited to decouple the unwanted mirror-fermion. Upper and lower bounds on the renormalized scalar mass as a function of the renormalized fermion mass are obtained in the SU(2) version of the model. Our numerical data are found to be in qualitative agreement with one-loop results. No evidence for a nontrivial fixed point has been observed. The mirror-fermion models are likely to be trivial in the continuum limit. Our Monte Carlo data show that with a 180GeV top quark, the Standard Model Higgs boson should have a mass between 100 and 800GeV .

Mass Spectrum and Bounds on the Couplings in Yukawa Models With Mirror-Fermions
The SU(2)L ⊗ SU(2)R symmetric Yukawa model with mirror-fermions in the limit where the mirror-fermion is decoupled is studied both analytically and numerically. The bare scalar self-coupling λ is fixed at zero and infinity. The phase structure is explored and the relevant phase transition is found to be consistent with a second order one. The fermionic mass spectrum close to that transition is ...
متن کاملvector-like models with mirror fermions as a possible solution for the discrepancy in the b−quark asymmetries, and for the neutrino mass and mixing pattern
A general study of the fermionic structure of the 331 models with β arbitrary shows the possibility of obtaining 331 vector-like models with mirror fermions. On one hand, the existence of mirror fermions gives a possible way to fit the discrepancy in the bottom quark asymmetries from the prediction of the standard model. On the other hand, the vector-like nature of the model permits to address ...
متن کاملGrand unification for mirror fermions
The possibility of grand unification of the standard model (SM) with fermion spectrum extended to include mirror fermions is examined. SM gauge couplings do not automatically unify. SO(10) grand unification is studied with one intermediate scale. Renormalization group equations (RGE) for fermion Yukawa couplings and the scalar self-coupling are studied numerically at one and two loop level. Str...
متن کاملNondecoupling of Heavy Mirror-Fermion
According to one-loop perturbation theory, fermions whose masses are totally generated from Yukawa couplings do not decouple in the heavy mass limit. We investigate this issue nonperturbatively in the strong coupling regime of the chiral U(1) mirror-fermion model in four dimensions. Our numerical results, obtained on 6 · 16, 6 · 24 and 8 · 16 lattices, indicate nondecoupling of heavy fermion an...
متن کاملFour-dimensional N = 1 Supersymmetric Yang-mills Theory on the Lattice without Fine-tuning
We propose a method to formulate four-dimensional N = 1 super Yang-Mills theory on the lattice without ne-tuning. We rst show that four-dimensional Weyl fermion in a real representation, which is equivalent to Majorana fermion, can be formulated using the domain wall approach with an addition of a Majorana mass term only for the unwanted mirror fermion. This formalism has manifest gauge invaria...
